Sirinu has created programmes that explore the historic connections of folk music. Their name derives from the Sirens which, in traditional Andean music, are the source of music, and their first programme 'The Frozen Jewel of Potosi' explored the connections between Spanish music of the sixteenth-century and Andean music.  Their programme 'In the Footsteps of Ziryab' which featured traditional music form the Middle East and European medieval music was broadcast on BBC Radio 3. They have performed songs exploring Cornish myths at the Saltash Sea Shanty Festival (2022) and have collaborated with folk singer Catherine Chapman on a project on Cecil Sharp’s life and his folk song collecting in Somerset: ‘Cecil Sharp and the Soundscape of Somerset’.  More recently they have performed music by William Kimber from Headington Quarry, Oxford.
